The Entiat River Basin is located in on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in northeast Chelan County. The watershed drains approximately square miles of land. The headwaters of the Entiat River are about 9, feet above sea level. The river then drops 8, feet in elevation over a distance. The Middle Potomac River basin project demonstrates (1) the determination of environmental flow needs for rivers and streams that are generally more impaired by land use change than by withdrawals or impoundments; (2) engagement of multiple water resource agencies and other stakeholders across jurisdictional boundaries; and (3) a structured, iterative approach for selecting flow and ecology. This report presents an analysis of low flows in the Upper Mattole River basin with the following objectives: 1) to analyze recent hydrologic data to compare and contrast summer discharges as they vary in time and space; and 2) to contribute to a technical basis supporting efforts designed to improve low flows in the Upper Mattole River for.
